My Feb Goal: To finish the 2nd draft (practically a page 1 rewrite)of the script I began in the late, great Blake Snyder’s Beat Sheet Workshop June 2008. Today I booked a week alone in a timeshare in Sedona (7-hour drive!) I leave Saturday. I realize I won’t always have the luxury of uninterrupted time, and need to commit to some writing every day, but this time away to focus will give me a real jump-start. I’ve told some mentors, fellow writers and my manager of my plans. Now I’m telling you! Manager gets my pages when the week is up–maybe even a finished draft!! … Now, I’m telling you! (So I can’t waste the time on Facebook and Twitter

Hi Debra! I just listened to your 1/15 interview on the iTunes podcast of “On the Page.” As an out-of-state screenwriter, the query process can be daunting. In December, I won second place in the 2009 One in Ten International Screenwriting Competition. In addition to the cash prize and detailed script notes, this includes promotion of the screenplay by the contest organizers. Planning to not squander this great opportunity, my goal for February is to to polish the screenplay and perfect the tagline, logline, and synopsis for their use!

Debra, I also just listen to you on Pilar’s podcast. Nice job and thanks for the tips. I just started scheduling screenwriting as part of my daily activity. I’m working on my first screenplay through Chris Soth’s Million Dollar Screenwriting Mentor Program. So by the end of Feb., I would like to have had a meeting with Chris on my second sequence. Between now and the end of Feb, I want to establish my practice of writing 6 days/week, rewrite my first sequence, draft my second sequence and review with Chris. I’d also like to rejoin my local screenwriting group. Cheers!
