SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE – FALL
Write 200 to 400 words on the topic: Fall. Three winners will receive their choice of one of two books, thanks to Michael Wiese Productions. Submit your 200- to 400-word short story or essay on the topic Fall in the body of an email to Debra@WriteOnOnline.com by Friday, September 30. Please also include your name and the type of writing you do along with your submission. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, October 11, on Write On! Online, and in the October Write On! Newsletter.

Emmy winning writer, Brooks Wachtel will be teaching his animation screenwriting course at the UCLA Extension School, starting September 29, 2011. His UCLA class is a ten week course, focused on writing animation for television and the web.

The 140 Characters Conference: Small Town will be returning to the Historic Fox Theatre on September 20, 2011, in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Join authors Dennis Danziger, Amy Friedman, Amy Ferris, Daniel Jaffe, and Eric Schwartz, and Dan Radlauer and the Extreme Klezmer Band at LA’s The Last Bookstore on September 25  from 2 to 4pm.

ONGOING
Sundays: Scriptchat is a twitter chat for new and seasoned screenwriters. Since screenwriters are global, Scriptchat has two chats each Sunday: 8pm GMT is EURO #scriptchat, moderated by Mina Zaher (@DreamsGrafter) and 8pm EST, moderated by Jeanne Veillette Bowerman (@jeannevb). All transcripts are posted on the blog, as well as tons of screenwriting resources.

Meditation Friday Nights at The Learning Garden the 2nd Friday of the month. Meditation begins promptly at 8:00 pm. Please dress in layers and bring a blanket and cushion to sit on. Meditation lasts about 40 minutes around a fire in the peaceful surroundings of the Garden. Donations go to The Learning Garden. For more information contact Camille at (310) 382-4323.
