ForthMagazine seeks new works of fiction, 1K word limit, for its online publication. They have a weakness for regional fiction – stories and authors connected to Los Angeles County – but foremost they love great narratives with quality and original language and content from anywhere by well-known or emerging voices. FORTH Magazine does not pay authors at this time. Nor do we charge a submission fee. More info here.

The Tahoma Literary Review is now accepting narrative nonfiction submissions on any subject. Full guidelines are here. Also accepting fiction and poetry submissions. They current pay between $30 and $100.

June 15th is the deadline to apply for the Whidbey Writers Workshop, which gathers two dozen nationally-recognized writers, editors, and agents on the shores of Penn Cove on Whidbey Island (Coupeville, WA) from August 3 – 12. Application and details here.
