Bruce Golden’s latest book, Tales of My Ancestors, has just been released.  It’s described as “The History Channel via The Twilight Zone.” Golden says he hopes to interest a television producer in the idea of “Twilight Zone” style stories built around historical accuracy and the ancestors of both celebrities and the not-so-celebrated.

Beth McGee just released Get Your House Clean Now: The Home Cleaning Method Anyone Can Master by Beth McGee. Beth shares the products, process, and encouragement you need to make this seemingly daunting task manageable with an inspiring touch of humor.

There are still a few openings left in the 2016 Todos Santos Writers Workshop, January 24-30, a 5-day intensive workshops for writers at all levels. Fiction, Non-fiction, and Memoir in our “Pueblo Magico” by the sea. Speakers include Christopher Merrill, Director, Iowa U Intl. Writing Program; Bruce Berger (author); Byran Jauregui (Eco-Adventures); Viviane Mahieux (UC Irvine), Meg Thompson (Thompson Literary). Faculty:  Gordon Chaplin (memoirist/novelist) Jeanne McCulloch (editor, Paris Review, Tin House Books), Rex Weiner (journalist), Jonathan Penner (novelist/short story) plus guest writers, agents, editors, special seminars and signature margaritas. Apply before January 15.

Mineral School is currently taking applications (deadline 2/15/16) for summer writing residencies in the former 1940s school in a little lake town near Mt. Rainier, in Washington. Residencies last two weeks, the cost is $400 (some fellowships for NW writers available), and include room and board (food allergies/lifestyles accommodated), visiting author presentations, and opportunities to share work with the public. Last year writers came from the Bay Area, Michigan, New York, Oregon, Portland, and Seattle. View the application with all the salient details.
