C.M. Mayo just published “Dispatch from the Sister Republic or, Papelito Habla,” an essay on the Mexican literary landscape and the power of the book. Available in Kindle.

Lois Paige Simenson is Vice-President of Programs for the Alaska Writers Guild, and is working on the Anchorage Writers’ Conference for September 15 and 16. Jane Friedman, former editor of Writers’ Digest the keynote. Lois will be moderating the Jane Friedman breakout sessions.

Neurology Now published Sandra de Helen’s essay on migraines in their online magazine. It’s entitled it, “Finding A Life.” Read the essay.

Diane Williams was one of a team of five writers who developed the story and characters for The Tenure Games, Women in Film and Video-DC’s entry in the 2017 Washington, DC, 48 Hour Film Project. The event took place from June 23-25, and the film will screen on July 14. Diane wrote the script with all the dialogue in verse and directed. Watch the trailer.

The third book in Jen Brody’s trilogy, The United Continuums, publishes on July 11. Follow Jen on social media (TwitterInstagram, Facebook) for info on giveaways and events coming up this month.

The podcast, which has been available on iTunes and other channels since last April, moved to a half-hour weekly broadcast, Sundays at Noon Pacific, on KNNN 87.7 FM in Redding, California. The Tahoma Literary Review is accepting narrative nonfiction submissions on any subject. Full guidelines are here. Also accepting fiction and poetry submissions. They currently pay between $30 and $100.
