April 20 – 22: The 11th annual Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) Writers’ Weekend. On Saturday, April 21 at 1pm, Petrea Burchard will lead a workshop/discussion on Social Media for the Faint of Heart. More event information here.

April 21 – 22: LA Times Festival of Books at University of Southern California. Check out the schedule.

April 30: “Trends in Publishing 2018,” a panel discussion about what publishers want, current influences and marketing tools, and everything writers need to position their books for success, starts at 7:30pm. Presented by IWOSC, the Independent Writers of Southern California, at the Veterans Memorial Building in Culver City. Free to members, $15 non. Info & RSVP at IWOSC.org.

Late April TBD: “Poetry and Adding Poetry to Your Writing” with coach Tresha Hoefner. IWOSC, the Independent Writers of Southern California, will put the final details, including prices, on their website IWOSC.org. It may be a phone-in event.

May 2: May LA Hangout at C&M Coffee and Milk Westwood Gateway, 11111 Santa Monica Blvd, in Westwood from 1-3pm. C&M will validate parking in the building. RSVP on Facebook.
