Check out Art Klepchukov’s seasonal roundup for Writer Unboxed: Fiction Writing Contests Worth Your Time (Summer 2018). Deadlines between June 1st and August 31st. Included with each writing contest are reasons to submit.

Sandra de Helen’s poem Looking Through Stained Glass will appear in Issue 4 of Impossible Archetype.

The last issue of Anne Toole’s 6-issue Dance of the Dead comic book series from Zenescope came out last week. She also contributed a comic book story to the Pink Panther 55th anniversary special, which came out in May.

Danica Davidson has two books coming out in June. The first, Manga Art for Intermediates, made with professional Japanese manga creator Rena Saiya, shows how to draw characters in the manga style and includes insider industry tips. She is also releasing the children’s adventure novel Last of the Ender Crystal, which is the latest in her series of books that take place as if Minecraft is real.

Save the Date: Come north for the 2018 Alaska Writers’ Guild writers and illustrators conference in Anchorage on September 21 and 22, 2018. So far, this year’s keynote faculty consists of Rebecca Zanetti and Angela Ackerman. Take a look at the 2017 conference on our web page for an idea of the sessions that will be offered. We’ll be updating the web page with the 2018 schedule soon!
