Mineral School, an artists residency near Mt. Rainier in Washington state, is taking applications through February 15, 2019. They offer two-week residencies, as well as a fully-funded one-week residency session in September 2019 for parents. They’re also debuting a two-week screenwriting residency this May in conjunction with the Rainier Independent Film Festival. All together, they have 10 fellowships this year. Applications are here. The Save the Cat!® screenplay competition is open to writers regardless of professional status or experience. Submissions are open through March 15, 2019, and will be judged by a panel of professional “cats” – experienced judges and readers who define winning screenplays through Save the Cat! story methodology. Every single participant will receive meaningful feedback grounded in structure and marketability. Applications must include an original feature film screenplay between 70 and 130 pages.
