Terri Freedman’s director-producer Loren Risker from Once Bitten is looking for short scripts (under 10 minutes) to produce and direct. These will be made on no/low budget, though he has a crew, full equipment, and hook-ups. (From Loren: “I like comedy, drama, suspense, horror – you know, the basics. I think my main concern is that it’s well-written and clear that the writer has a detailed vision. I’d do any genre then.”)

Screenwriter and novelist Robert Masello will be doing a Reading/Signing for his book Blood and Ice at Barnes & Noble, 1201 Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica, on Tuesday, March 10 at 7pm.

The Los Angeles Public Library now has a Screenwriters Workshop four Saturdays of the month at different branches, from 10:30 am — 12 pm, and every Sunday in the Farmers Market community room from 3 – 5 pm, hosted by Sasha Karova. Learn format and workshop original material (screenplays, 1/2 hour sitcom, and 1/2 hour and 1 hour episodic) with an open reading or read-through. Open reading is on a first-come, first-served basis.
