Summer Challenge is to write a fictional “How I Spent My Summer Vacation.” The contest runs through August 31,  and has prizes from iScript, The Writers Store, and authors from VBT-Writers on the Move. Travel writer John E. DiScala (a.k.a. Johnny Jet) will select the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from the finalists!. Thursday, July 22: Comic-Con International in San Diego starts; the event runs through Sunday, July 25. Can’t make it to Comic-Con? Live-action and animation writer/creator Jimmy Palmiotti, Paperfilms, will be answering questions in the August StoryLink eZine. Post a Question for Jimmy Palmiotti in the StoryLink Forum by August 1.  Need advice on networking at Comic-Con, read Scott Gross expert article, posted last week : “Making Comic-Con Work for You.”

Monday, July 26: No Restrictions Entertainment’s One Hour Fantasy Girl (2009) will be screening at the Film Courage Interactive, which starts at 7 pm, in Los Angeles at the Downtown Independent – 50% of the Box Office goes to @DWCweb (Downtown Women’s Center) to help end homelessness for women. Monday, July 26: Laurie Gibson will be presenting a seminar called, Book Publishing 1-2-3: From the Writer’s Fingers to the Reader’s Hands, from 7 to -8 pm in the Crowell Public Library (1890 Huntington Drive, San Marino).
