The Write On! Summer Challenge is to write a fictional “How I Spent My Summer Vacation.” The contest runs through August 31,  and has prizes from iScript, The Writers Store, and authors from VBT-Writers on the Move. Travel writer John E. DiScala (a.k.a. Johnny Jet) will select the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from the finalists!. Saturday, July 10: Summer is here and so is the release-party for the Amor Fati LA Art & Literary Magazine Volume 2, “The Disaster Issue.” The release party starts at 9pm at The Mezz, 501 S Spring Street, in downtown Los Angeles, $5 cover. The theme of this Fall’s issue (Volume 3) is “Secrets.” Submissions can be fiction   or non-fiction. Deadline for submissions is September 13, 2010. Please visit the website for further details.

Tuesday, July 13: The Writers Guild Foundation presents an interview with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg (The Twilight saga, Dexter) at 7:30 pm Pacific. Save the Date: Monday, July 26: No Restrictions Entertainment’s One Hour Fantasy Girl (2009) will be screening at the Film Courage Interactive, which starts at 7 pm, in Los Angeles at the Downtown Independent – 50% of the Box Office goes to @DWCweb (Downtown Women’s Center) to help end homelessness for women. Sundays: Scriptchat was created for the purpose of bringing new and seasoned screenwriters together to learn and grow.
