Two contests from Northwest Institute of Literary Arts: Soundings Review Founders’ Circle Contest is open to any genre; $10 per entry. Winner receives publication in Soundings Review and $300. Soundings Review First Publication Contest is open to any genre for those who have never been published in a nationally-distributed publication before. $10 per entry. Winner receives publication and $100. Next deadline is January 1.

WeSaidGoTravel.com’s Gratitude Travel Writing Contest opens September 11 and runs  through November 28, 2013. The theme for the Fall 2013 contest is “Gratitude: A Place You Feel Awe.” No entry fee and $1,000 in cash prizes. Share your stories of awe and Inspire others to travel more! Judges: Richard Bangs, Tiffany Hawk, and the We Said Go Travel Team.

November 14: The film #Stuck is having a crowdfunding pre-launch party at Hemingways in Hollywood. #Stuck is a festival-winning indie romance with a modern premise: “What’s the worst thing that could happen after a one night stand?
