October 17: PALA (Publishers Association of Los Angeles) presents a talk about Google Analytics and what it can do for writers with Joel Davis. Free to PALA members; $15 others. The event is in Culver City, and starts at 7pm. More info at Pa-la.org.

October 20: Celebrate the season finale of Book’d “The Ultimate Bibliophiles’ Night Out” lit event at The Group Repertory/Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood. Festivities to include author readings, bookish giveaways and a catered mingling reception. RSVP and get details.

October 29: PALA presents The Nuts and Bolts of Self-Publishing with Sharon Goldinger. Go to PA-LA.org and click on the right sidebar for a list of all the topics Sharon will cover. RSVP and pay there as well. This 4-hour seminar starts at 9:30am in Culver City, and prepaid reservations are required. $69 before October 8; $79 after.

October 30: IWOSC presents You’ve Graduated — So Now What??” a panel aimed at young people trying to break into the writing industry – in TV/film and online journalism. Event is in Culver City, and starts at 7:30pm. IWOSC members free; others $15. All the info and panelists at IWOSC.org.

November 14: The 2016 edition of #140conf will take place in Los Angeles at The Crest in Westwood. I will be co-hosting the event with founder Jeff Pulver. The format of our conference are 10 minute talks mixed with a few short panel discussions, followed by networking. The #140conf events provide a platform to listen, connect, share, and engage with each other, while collectively exploring the effects of the real-time internet on business. Check out the lineup and get tickets.
