Remember: National Novel Writing Month (www.nanowrimo.org) starts this Saturday, November 1. That gives you about a week to finish preparing to write a novel in a month. Research and outlines are encouraged, but hold off on those words until Saturday!
If you’ve always wanted to write a novel, this is a great way to do it. NaNoWriMo’s focus is on productivity and word count: 50,000 words in a month to be exact. The first draft is always the hardest—after all, you have to write down the words in the first place, so you can rewrite them. Go for it. And Good luck!
Check out www.nanowrimo.org to register and for more information. If you are a Write On! member, participating in National Novel Writing Month, please email me (deckerling@cs.com), so we can give you the props and encouragement you deserve!
