There is always fabulous energy at our monthly Write On! meetings, and tonight was no exception. New members Linda (who won the Write On! March Challenge), Katherine, Lana, Jared, and Sky joined the usual suspects. We heard Linda’s winning story, Laurie’s March contest entry, part of Kate’s novel, Lana’s project’s logline, and Jared’s short script. Everyone’s words were descriptive and engaging.
We talked about some nice screenwriting, writing, and networking resources; the importance of reading in addition to writing; and the power of using an actual pen and paper—and not just relying on the computer—to write.
One of the conversations during goals sparked a new Write On! Collaboration: Stories of success in spite of people who steered us the wrong way. Submit your story (500-750 words) about the teacher/person/relative who deterred you from writing … and what it took to get you back on track to debra@writeononline.com before the next meeting.
The next Write On! Meeting will be on May 12, 2010. Share your article links, news, and success stories on the Write On! Facebook Page. Post your May Goals for a chance to win an iScript. And enter the Write On! April Challenge – Write a Limerick. Email your limerick to debra@writeononline.com by April 30. Happy Writing!
