It’s the time of year when you catch up on all those goals you set in January. It’s Summertime! And you can win just for declaring – and reporting on – Your Summer Goals!
Here’s how it works:
1. Post in comments what major project you will be taking on during the months of July and August. For example: write a book, a book proposal, a non-fiction book, a screenplay, 3 blog posts/week, etc.
2. Go for it!
3. Keep the Write On! Community posted by responding to requests for progress on Write On! Online and on the Facebook page … Every time you post, during a call for updates, you will receive another entry in the drawing! Keep your eye on the Facebook Page and @WriteOnOnline for bonus entry opportunities!
4. Write! And have fun!
5. Four winners will be chosen at random to receive one of these two books thanks to Michael Wiese Productions.
– Memo from the Story Dept.: Secrets of Structure and Character
by Christopher Vogler and David McKenna
– Reality TV: An Insider’s Guide to TV’s Hottest Market by Troy DeVolld
Post the way in which you will Challenge Yourself this summer, as a comment to this post for your first entry. Four winners will be chosen at random. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, September 13, on Write On! Online and in the September Write On! Newsletter.

July and August I will be working on the pages for the Writer’s Store contest, a screenplay, and blogging twice a week.
Alright, I do I get started? Where do I write my summer goals? Right here, just like I’m doing right now or there is a special page for these particular series of Posts?
Eddy, this is the page to post your summer goals! Write on!
Tried a few days of Camp NaNoWriMo, July session, and it’s just not working for me. Sooooooo – Summer Goals: By August 31st – WIP first draft revisions go into second draft rewrite. AND re-start on the Upper MG quest that I’ve outlined & and have the first two chapters in first draft form. Yay, Summertime! Yay, for having achievable goals!
Off to Melbourne next week for meeting with producer to nail story outline and other outstanding issues for rom-com script. First draft deadline is end of August…
Summer goals? Finish a couple scripts that I am lagging behind on and start to blog on a more consistent basis. Also, getting my children’s book on the market soon.
My summer goal would be to finish the novel I started to write in last year’s NaNoWriMo challenge which I tried for the first time. Will use the month of August to give me the 30days like the challenge used. Using July to get more consistent and disciplined with writing so August goal can be accomplished.
My summer goals are to write the first draft of “Miriam’s Room” for my New Testament Women series and finish the third draft of “Shadows” my sequel to “Shelter from the Storm” – all by August 31st.

I have to finish the script for a graphic novel in development. Also put the nail in the coffin of a feature-length espionage screenplay.
To print out the many related memory pieces I’ve written over the past few years, to see where I’m at in the process of creating my memoir. I’ve encountered some obstacles so far- ran out of printer ink- bought more cartridges, then the printer broke. Now in the process of installing, although having a bit of a time. Help me,Lord!
Once I get them printed out and see where I am, will begin writing a book proposal.
Finish first draft of story inspired by a series of Toasted Cheese Sunday Brunch Writing Prompts. Blogging at some point, and maybe looking back at a story I had started for a contest that I never turned in. Maybe I’m far enough from the event with the other character to write with some truth but not get so attached (there’s another story that could apply to, too).
A fiction piece
