Artemis Journal is seeking art and literary submissions for the upcoming 2017 Artemis Journal. For submission guidelines, go to Artemisjournal.org.

The first of Merrill Feitell’s video essays just got published at ElectricLiterature.com — along with a craft and process essay about arriving at this form: “Map Inset: Kansas – A Video Essay about a woman, a dog, the open road, and the things we carry to the middle of nowhere.” Watch here.

Amy Lieu launched a talk show on her YouTube channel, called #AmyLieuPresents to empower women with an Asian American perspective. The show is for all genders and races. She has interviewed actors/actresses, comedians, musicians, her mother about her Vietnam War refugee experience, and more. Also as working journalist, she aims for the show to highlight underrepresented stories of marginalized communities.

Greenscreen Made Easy – 2nd Edition by Jeremy Hanke and Michele Yamazaki is newly released from Michael Wiese Productions.

Ongoing:

October 20: Celebrate the season finale of Book’d “The Ultimate Bibliophiles’ Night Out” lit event at The Group Repertory/Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood. Festivities to include author readings, bookish giveaways and a catered mingling reception. RSVP and get details.

November 14: The 2016 edition of #140conf will take place in Los Angeles at The Crest in Westwood. I will be co-hosting the event with founder Jeff Pulver. The format of our conference are 10 minute talks mixed with a few short panel discussions, followed by networking. The #140conf events provide a platform to listen, connect, share, and engage with each other, while collectively exploring the effects of the real-time internet on business. Check out the lineup and get tickets.
