Write On Wednesday: August Meeting Recap, Events & More

August 12: IWOSC (Independent Writers of Southern California) Summer Party at the Pig’N Whistle in Hollywood. RSVP and pay online. At noon: a private tour of the Egyptian Theater; otherwise arrive by 1 pm to order lunch and enjoy the company.

August 17: Book Publicists of Southern California presents The Reel Deal: Books into Film Update at Sportsman Lodge in Studio City. Speakers include Marilyn Anderson (moderator) author of How to Live Like a Millionaire When You’re a Million Short (her How to Beat a Bully was made into a film); Stephen Galloway, editor, features dept., at Hollywood Reporter and author of Leading Lady; indie filmmaker Jeff Potter, president/founder Porter Pictures; and Robert Kosberg, producer (movies include 12 Monkeys) and one of the best idea men in the business. Get details and ticket information.

September 6: September LA Hangout at C&M Coffee and Milk Westwood Gateway, 11111 Santa Monica Blvd, in Westwood from 1-3pm. C&M will validate parking in the building. RSVP on Facebook.

Ongoing: On the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, writers are welcome to come to the Santa Monica Bay Woman’s Club to write from 6:30 to 10pm. The club, at 1210 4th St, asks for a $3 donation. RSVP to MAnnapav@aol.com.
