October 29 – 31: Film Independent’s 6th Annual Filmmaker Forum at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles. Covering production, distribution, documentary, and emerging media, the 2010 Filmmaker Forum provides case studies and presentations on some of today’s most interesting new works as well as thought-provoking discussions, and networking sessions. October 29 & 30: Chicagoans, Facets’ second annual Fright School, where they show a horror film every Friday and Saturday at midnight in October, wraps up this weekend. Each film will be introduced by a staff member who will hang around into the wee hours for a Q&A.
